📡 SBR Edge: Masters prop bets

Ready the couch, it's Masters week. The 2026 Masters at Augusta National has arrived, and while most attention is on the green jacket, the real betting value often sits in the prop markets. Whether it’s sizing up a loaded debutant class or sweating a Sunday hole-in-one prop, these wagers add another layer to handicapping the first major of the year. Let’s get into my favorite Masters prop bets.

🏆 Masters prop bets: Scottie Scheffler top North American (+340)

It's almost impossible to bet against Scheffler here. While he isn't the overall betting favorite this week, his consistency at Augusta is unmatched among North Americans. He's never finished outside the top 20 in his career here and is top five in strokes gained: approach and strokes gained: around the green this season. In a market where he only has to beat North Americans, his high floor makes this the safest anchor for your prop card.

🌍️ Top region bets

A top North American bet (or top European, etc) in golf means you’re picking the player who will finish highest among all golfers from that region. North America bets typically include those from the United States, Canada, and Mexico. To win the bet, your selected player simply needs to outperform every other player from that region in the field, regardless of their overall position on the leaderboard.

🎯 Matt Fitzpatrick top UK (+340)

I actually have Matt Fitzpatrick to win the whole thing in my Masters predictions this week, so of course I'll dabble on him to be the top player from the United Kingdom.

Fitzpatrick enters Augusta playing arguably the best golf of his career. He captured a statement win at the Valspar Championship in late March and was on the verge of winning The Players the week before. His track record at Augusta has always been steady, but his 2026 strokes gained: approach numbers indicate he's primed to elevate his performance even further. Could it be a green jacket? Now ranked No. 6 in the world with five top-25 finishes leading into the tournament, Fitzpatrick offers strong value all around the odds board.

📈 Extreme long shots for the Masters

🎓 Jacob Bridgeman top debutant (+650)

The 2026 debutant class is deep, featuring stars like the red-hot Chris Gotterup and Ben Griffin, but Bridgeman is the statistical outlier that could steal this market. Bridgeman currently ranks No. 1 on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: putting and second in strokes gained: total. Augusta National Golf Course is a putting course above all else, and Bridgeman has recorded eight straight top-20 finishes without missing a single cut this season.

A top debutant bet in golf is a wager on which first-time participant in a specific tournament will finish the highest on the leaderboard. This market only includes players making their debut appearance at that event, meaning they have no prior experience competing there.

1️⃣ Masters power rankings

Where does your favorite golfer sit in our Masters power rankings? Bryson, Rory, and Scottie sit atop the throne.

⛳ Hole in one prop bets: Yes (-125)

The "Yes" on a hole in one is a Masters tradition for a reason. Since 1934, there have been 33 aces at the Masters, with a staggering 25 of them occurring on the 16th hole. Prediction markets are implying a 55% probability a hole in one will occur, too.

With the Sunday pin placement traditionally funneling balls toward the cup, this prop has hit in seven of the last 10 years. It's a high-probability sweat that usually pays off during the back-nine charge on Sunday.

💰️ Masters bets to make before Round 1

Looking for more plays to sweat prior to Thursday? Our Esten McLaren has you covered with his Masters first-round leader predictions and Masters parlay picks, while I keep things moving with my projected cut line predictions.

✂️ To make the cut: Justin Rose (-280)

If you’re looking for a lock to play the weekend, look no further than Rose. He is making his 21st Masters start and has one of the highest cut-made percentages in tournament history. Fresh off a T10 finish in 2025 where he pushed McIlroy to a playoff, Rose's familiarity with the course's miss areas ensures he won't let one bad hole sink his week.

🏆Defending champion specials: Scheffler or McIlroy to win (+320)

This one doesn't need much explaining, but we're going to do so anyway. Scottie has every chance to win his third Masters this season, and McIlroy will be highlighted all week as one of the best stories to potentially go back-to-back. After his legendary breakthrough win in 2025, the Grand Slam pressure has evaporated, replaced by the quest for a repeat. He's looking to become the first back-to-back winner since Tiger Woods. I'll take this bet, expect both to be in contention come Sunday.

⚖️ How I'm handicapping the Masters

Augusta National stands as the definitive course-history venue, where champions typically boast either a top-10 pedigree or extensive experience with its intricate greens. While Rory McIlroy's 2025 victory ended a notable dry spell, he perfectly exemplified the veteran contender who had been knocking on the door for years. This year, the course stretches to 7,565 yards, making strokes gained: approach the vital metric; simply put, you won't secure a Green Jacket without elite iron play.
