The NCAA Tournament is nearly here with Selection Sunday set for March 15, and while the March Madness MVP odds are not yet available, it's clear who will open as the favorite.
Duke freshman phenom Cameron Boozer is expected to win the Wooden Award and has the Blue Devils projected to earn the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Last year, Duke's Cooper Flagg opened as a +370 favorite to win March Madness MVP, so Boozer's odds should be nearly identical.
Other college basketball stars that will likely be atop the board are Michigan's Yaxel Lendeborg, Arizona's Brayden Burries, and Florida's Thomas Haugh.
π March Madness MVP history
Since the NCAA Tournament began in 1938-39, the Final Four Most Outstanding Player has gone to a player on the losing team in the championship game just 12 times. Since the NCAA Tournament expansion in 1984-85, it has gone to a player on the winning team every single season.
The last non-championship winning player to take home March Madness MVP was Akeem Olajuwon in 1983.
