I'm predicting that Vanderbilt will roll to a comfortable 14-point win in Thursday's Round 1 matchup with McNeese. The Commodores are ranked 10th overall in Bart Torvik's ratings, suggesting this team is underrated as a No. 5 seed.

The problem is that Vanderbilt does an excellent job of taking care of the rock. The Commodores are 11th in offensive turnover rate this year. They won't allow the Cowboys to get easy buckets in transition, meaning McNeese might struggle to score.
This Under costs as much as -120 in the market, but I'm comfortable playing it as long as it's 69.5 or higher.

For example, Vanderbilt guard Tyler Tanner has an assist total of 4.5 at bet365. That same prop is 6.5 at DraftKings (-140 to Over) and 7.5 at FanDuel (+140 to Over).
Although DraftKings and FanDuel don't offer an Under, that seems like a large gap to me, considering McNeese ranks 301st in defensive assist rate.
The Cowboys' aggressive defensive philosophy can be hurt by good passing decisions. Tanner can certainly do his part as someone averaging more than five dimes per game in wins this season.

As a result, I see value in a convincing performance due to Vanderbilt's clear matchup advantage. I've allocated 2.5 units for that exact game script on Thursday, though the prop markets are more valuable than simply laying the 11.5 points.
