No. 4 Duke is a 19.5-point betting favorite amid a 12-1 stretch. But with this game sandwiched between two ranked opponents, and a clash against No. 1 Michigan looming next weekend, I am looking at the total as my best bet rather than worrying about the big spread.

The biggest reason Syracuse pulled the home upset of SMU on Saturday was that it held the Mustangs to 46.8% shooting from 2-point range. But the Orange still entered that game 11th in ACC play in 2-point defense, and they allowed a whopping 78 points and 1.19 points per possession despite the improved interior defense against SMU.
The Over has cashed in five of Syracuse’s six road games and 75% of its conference games, and I am buying low after Duke held Clemson to its fewest points since Jan. 2023.

Duke ranks eighth with a plus-10 rebounding margin, but I am avoiding its team total in case it rests starters late. Syracuse scored 37 points in the last 10 minutes of the second half on the road against North Carolina the last time it played on a Monday, and a similar result could happen here.
