Without a first-round pick after sending it to Dallas in the Micah Parsons trade, the Green Bay Packers enter draft week picking at No. 52 in Round 2 and looking to fill gaps at cornerback and along the defensive line behind a roster that went 9-7-1 and has playoff aspirations in 2026.
As part of our NFL draft predictions for every team, we break down the Packers' full draft picks, biggest team needs, ideal prospect fits, mock draft projections, and our prediction for which player Green Bay will draft with their first pick ahead of the first round, which begins tonight at 8 p.m. ET live on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network.

🆘 Packers team needs entering draft
We break down every team's projected NFL win totals with our best Over/Under picks by division.
- Team needs: EDGE, DL, OL, CB, RB
- Key additions: Javon Hargrave (DT), Zaire Franklin (LB, via trade), Benjamin St-Juste (CB), Skyy Moore (WR)
- Key departures: Rashan Gary (EDGE, Cowboys via trade), Trevon Diggs (CB), Elgton Jenkins (OG, Browns), Rasheed Walker (OT, Panthers), Emanuel Wilson (RB, Seahawks)
Trading Gary to Dallas leaves the edge thinner opposite Parsons, and cornerback is a real concern after Diggs' departure. The offensive line lost two starters in Jenkins and Walker, too. Hargrave adds interior presence on defense, and Franklin bolsters the linebacker corps, but GM Brian Gutekunst still needs to find a corner and more depth up front with limited draft capital.
🏈 Packers draft prospect fits
I asked NFL draft expert Rob Paul to pick the Packers' best prospect fit in a dream scenario, their safest pick, and their best upside pick:
| Pick type | No. 52 pick | Grade | Paul's take |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🌟 Dream pick | Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson | 7.05 | Despite his NFL bloodlines, production, feistiness, and instincts, Terrell could slide deep into the second round due to his poor testing numbers, and if he does, the Packers should bet on him with their need at corner |
| 🛡️ Safe pick | Gabe Jacas, EDGE, Illinois | 7.0 | If Green Bay wants to add a high-motor, heavy-handed, violent pass rusher opposite Micah Parsons, Jacas is the ideal fit - he's like a twitched up wrecking ball |
| 🚀 Upside pick | Brandon Cisse, CB, South Carolina | 7.05 | One of the best athletes in the draft, Cisse's explosiveness shows up in man coverage where he can mirror and match wide receivers downfield, and it's a bonus that he's a willing tackler |

Green Bay doesn't have a first-round pick after trading it to Dallas in the Micah Parsons deal, so the Packers' first selection comes at No. 52 in Round 2. Cornerback is the most pressing need after Trevon Diggs' departure, but the market sees defensive lineman as the more likely call for this group.

Paul's pick at No. 52: Brandon Cisse, CB, South Carolina
- Pro comparison: Alontae Taylor
- Measurables: 6'0" | 189 lbs | 20 years old | RAS: 9.24
More than anything, Packers GM Brian Gutekunst needs to add a cornerback early in the draft, and preferably one with a high ceiling. Brandon Cisse fits the bill as one of the youngest players in the class and one of the most athletic (93rd percentile vertical jump and 91st percentile broad jump). Cisse, nicknamed "Glitch" for his athleticism, is a feisty man, a cornerback with loose hips and light feet. He may not be a starter as a rookie, but he has Pro Bowl upside.
