The Seattle Seahawks are quite healthy as we look at the Super Bowl 2026 injuries to watch, while the New England Patriots are dealing with two key defensive injuries on gameday.
Robert Spillane and Harold Landry are listed as questionable for New England, which could impact your Super Bowl predictions. They're nearly out of time to get healthy, with the Super Bowl kicking off from Levi's Stadium at 6:30 p.m. ET tonight. You can watch all the action on NBC, or stream the game on Peacock.
Monitor the Super Bowl inactives when the announcement comes just prior to gametime, as any absence or limitations could impact the spread, total, and player props.
🚑 Super Bowl injuries to watch
🔴 Patriots key injuries for Super Bowl 2026
Robert Spillane, LB (Ankle)
Robert Spillane is a critical cog in the Patriots' sixth-ranked run defense (101.7 regular-season yards per game) after recording a team-leading 97 tackles. That came after the linebacker finished third leaguewide last year (158 tackles) and 10th in 2023 (148).
With Drake Maye seemingly squashing concerns about his shoulder, Spillane reclaims his spot as the Patriots' greatest injury concern.
Spillane left the Patriots' AFC Championship Game early due to an ankle injury and didn't return. It's an issue he's been managing for a chunk of the season since Week 13. If he can't play or is limited, that's a significant boost for many props tied to Kenneth Walker, one of which is featured in our 10 Super Bowl bets to make right now.
However, late during Super Bowl week Spillane expressed confidence he'll be able to suit up.
Spillane sat out Weeks 14-18 with the same ankle injury that he aggravated during the AFC Championship Game. There's a clear reinjury risk during the Super Bowl.
Drake Maye, QB (Shoulder)
It's clearly alarming whenever any starting quarterback is on the injury report ahead of the Super Bowl. That's ratcheted up even further when the passer in question is a contender in the NFL MVP odds.
And we can go one notch more when the injury is tied to the throwing shoulder. But back away from that ledge, Patriots fans, as it seems there's little concern over Drake Maye's shoulder, and he's been practicing in full. While it sounds ominous at first, the issue doesn't appear significant. Maye handled what he described as a normal workload in a mini-practice on Monday, and we break it all down in our Drake Maye injury update.
He practiced fully throughout the rest of the week, too.
"I threw as much as I would at a normal practice," Maye said during Super Bowl Opening Night, via NFL.com. "I felt great and looking forward to getting back out there Wednesday and Thursday for practice and Friday to get ready for a normal week of prep."
"I felt good from the flight and throwing out there today, I think it turned the corner, and I really had no doubt being 100% for the game, this is the Super Bowl," he continued.
Harold Landry, EDGE (knee)
Harold Landry missing time is colossal too for the Patriots, and Sam Darnold's passing numbers could benefit if he's out or not himself still.
Landry was New England's sack leader (8.5), and he tied for the team lead in tackles for a loss (10). He finished the season strong while notching a sack in three of the final four games. Landry has been fighting through a knee injury for a while before sitting out the AFC Championship Game. His snap percentage was at 27.4% during the playoffs so far, way down from 75.1% throughout the regular season.
He offered guarded optimism to begin Super Bowl week, and backed that up with limited participation in Wednesday's practice.
"We’ll see how the week goes but yeah, I would anticipate (playing)," Landry said, via NESN.
There was hope for Landry to begin the week of practice when he was on the field Wednesday as a limited participant. But he was downgraded and out on Thursday. He returned to practice in a limited capacity on Friday though, and is officially listed as questionable.
🟢 Seahawks key injuries for Super Bowl 2026
Sam Darnold, QB (oblique)
An oblique injury nearly sidelined Sam Darnold earlier in the playoffs. He's been able to manage the issue while thriving, and throwing for 346 yards with three touchdowns during the NFC Championship Game.
He practiced in a limited capacity last week. Although the Seahawks would surely like to see their quarterback's name off the injury list and practicing in full, there doesn't seem to be any danger of him missing Super Bowl 2026. That could indeed be the case, which we break down in our Sam Darnold injury update.
He wasn't listed on the early Super Bowl injury report, and Darnold was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Then he participated in full on Thursday and Friday.
Drake Thomas, LB (shoulder)
The Seahawks are also dealing with a key linebacker who's on the mend. Drake Thomas suffered a shoulder injury during the NFC Championship Game, and similar to the Patriots with Spillane, the tenacious tackler is foundational to a third-ranked run defense. Treveyon Henderson and Rhamondre Stevenson could get more open space if he's out.
Thomas finished second on the team during the regular season in tackles and tackles for a loss, all while recording 3.5 sacks. He's versatile and comfortable in coverage too, with Thomas tallying eight passes defensed.
Thomas was a limited participant in practice last week, but he didn't receive an injury designation. He then practiced in full throughout Super Bowl week.
Josh Jones and Charles Cross, OTs (foot and ankle)
Depth is critical deep into the playoffs, and the Seahawks' second- and third-string tackles are hurting. Amari Kight sat out the NFC Championship game with a knee issue, and Josh Jones missed practice time heading into that game.
That's key because starter Charles Cross missed two practice sessions before the title game with a foot issue. He was then able to suit up, but Cross remains a reinjury risk at a vital position where Seattle's depth is suddenly being stretched thin. He was limited during practice on Wednesday and Thursday before getting in a full session on Friday. But Jones was downgraded to limited on Friday.
On the bright side, Kight is now off the injury report.
Ernest Jones, LB (Chest)
Even a whiff of an absence from Ernest Jones is concerning. The critical cog in the team's third-ranked run defense led the Seahawks in tackles this season (126), and he was listed as a limited participant last week in practice. However, he was a full practice participant throughout Super Bowl week.
