Super Bowl Coin Toss Odds 2027: Heads vs. Tails Betting Lines & History
Last Updated: February 9, 2026 2:56 PM EST β’ 5 minute read X Social Google News Link
The Super Bowl coin toss odds attract more betting action than almost all Super Bowl player props each season, even though heads and tails are rarely offered at even money.
Other coin toss prop bets include whether the call will be correct and which team will win the flip. Weβre here to help answer these questions as part of our coverage of Super Bowl novelty props ahead of Super Bowl 2027 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
πͺ Super Bowl coin toss odds: Heads or tails?
To look back on as an example, here were the Super Bowl coin toss odds for Super Bowl 60 between the Seahawks and Patriots:
| Coin toss outcome | DraftKings | FanDuel | BetMGM | Caesars | bet365 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Heads | -103 | -104 | -102 | -103 | +100 |
| Tails | -103 | -104 | -102 | -103 | +100 |
| Implied probability | 50.74% | 50.98% | 50.49% | 50.74% | 50% |
Credit to bet365 for being the only one of our best Super Bowl betting sites offering 50/50 even-money odds at +100. A winning $10 bet on heads or tails would have returned a profit of $10. The same wager on the Super Bowl coin toss at FanDuel with -104 odds would have returned a lesser profit of $9.62, as the sportsbook takes 38 cents on every $10 wager on either side.
⚖️ Why aren't Super Bowl coin toss odds 50/50?
Other than bet365, sportsbooks charge a vig on their Super Bowl coin toss odds. This is the book's cut for taking bets. This means profits are less than the initial wager. A winning $10 bet on the coin toss at FanDuel would return a total payout of $19.62.
π Additional coin toss betting markets
Here are some additional betting markets for the Super Bowl coin toss, again using the 2026 game as an example.
Coin toss winner: Seahawks vs. Patriots
Another (seemingly) 50/50 proposition regarding the Super Bowl coin toss is a bet on which team will win the flip. Here were the odds for Seahawks vs. Patriots.
| Winning Team | DraftKings | FanDuel | BetMGM | Caesars |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seahawks | -105 | -110 | -102 | -103 |
| Patriots | -105 | -110 | -102 | -103 |
DraftKings is charging a higher vig for its coin toss winner market. The Seahawks will call the coin toss as the official road team of the 2026 Super Bowl, but we're again seeing equal odds on both sides of the line at each of our best NFL betting sites offering this market.
Team that wins the coin toss wins the game
This same-game parlay of sorts asks whether the team that wins the coin toss will also win the game; odds from FanDuel:
| Yes | No |
|---|---|
| -110 | -110 |
π Super Bowl coin toss specials
Caesars offers a variety of Super Bowl coin toss specials, all essentially asking for the combination of coin toss and Super Bowl winner. Here were the offerings from 2026.
- Seahawks win toss/Seahawks win game: +165
- Heads/Seahawks win game: +175
- Tails/Seahawks win game: +175
- Patriots win toss/Seahawks win game: +185
- Patriots win toss/Patriots win game: +440
- Heads/Patriots win game: +450
- Tails/Patriots win game: +450
- Seahawks win toss/Patriots win game: +460
The odds are higher for any combo, including the Patriots winning the game because the Seahawks entered as the 4.5-point betting favorite by the Super Bowl odds.

- San Francisco has won five Super Bowl coin flips, followed by the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs with four wins
- Tom Brady was on the losing end of the coin toss in all seven of his Super Bowl titles

π How to read Super Bowl prop odds
Super Bowl coin toss odds are typically displayed with a positive or negative sign. Hereβs a quick guide:
- Positive Odds (i.e., +100): This indicates how much you win on a $100 bet. For example, +100 means if you bet $100, you win $100 if your bet is successful. It implies that the outcome is considered an even bet.
- Negative Odds (i.e., -105): This shows how much you need to bet to win $100. For example, -105 means you need to bet $105 to win $100. It indicates that the outcome is favored.
The odds in this market will always be equal on either side. While the odds should be +100 to represent a 50% implied probability, some sportsbooks will charge a vig with odds of -105 for both heads and tails. The -105 odds represent an implied probability of 51.22% and the extra $5 added to a $100 bet to return a $100 profit is the sportsbook's cut.
