With only two games on the slate, I've selected three players to light the lamp in my NHL anytime goal-scorer predictions today

As the Oilers should be in the mood for vengeance after an embarrassing performance in Dallas on Thursday, I've decided to back Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman to make amends. The Los Angeles Kings and New York Islanders meet at UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y., where I expect Bo Horvat to extend his goal-scoring streak.

🥅 Best anytime goal scorer pick today

Leon Draisaitl (+140) at Blues

Draisaitl has failed to register a shot three times this season, and in each subsequent contest, he scored. He has four goals in the three games following laying an egg.

The good news for anyone thinking about tailing this bet is that he didn't have a single shot against Dallas on Thursday. That's bad news for the St. Louis Blues, who, despite their recent surge, are one of the worst defensive teams at home.

With no doubt about Draisaitl's ability to channel and harness his anger, I'm backing him to continue his perfect record after a poor display. I'd play this bet to +130.

🔥 More NHL goal scorer picks

Bo Horvat (+155) vs. Kings

Horvat is on a bit of a heater, netting in three straight and four of the previous five, including against the Los Angeles Kings on March 5.

In the last three games, Horvat had the second-most expected goals, the most expected goals, and added another demonstrative performance on March 10 in St. Louis, where he had 0.86 expected goals.

It's also promising that the Kings have allowed the fourth-most goals per game (3.90) since Feb. 4. The odds are about where I would price them, so I'd play the bet to +150.

Zach Hyman (+165) at Blues

Hyman fired six shots on Jake Oettinger in Dallas on Thursday, led the team with 0.54 expected goals and had eight attempted shots. Despite that effort, Hyman finished the game with a minus-3 rating.

That won't sit well with the 33-year-old, who will be angry and focused on making amends.

Hyman netted twice the last time he faced the St. Louis Blues, who have the seventh-worst defensive record, allowing 3.29 goals per game.

💡 How I'm betting NHL goal scorer picks today

Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.

Goal-scorer picks accompany better odds, lower probability, and increased risk. That's why I usually invest 0.5 units ($5) in my goal-scorer picks.

However, I've decided to invest a full unit ($10) in Draisaitl because of his ability to rebound after a dud. Not only was he woeful against Dallas, but he is playing a team renowned for its vulnerability defensively. Expect an angry Draisaitl, and that's worth a $10 bet in my eyes.
