The fact the NHL leader in points is getting even-money to record two is beyond me, but we're going to take advantage.

🎙️ SBR Intel: Oilers vs. Stars player props (March 12)

Connor McDavid (+100) has recorded at least one point in 19 consecutive road games, totaling 35 points across that span. Elsewhere, I'll take Wyatt Johnston (-118) to record 3+ shots on goal against a shaky Oilers defense, while Leon Draisaitl (-156) at 2+ shots gives us plenty of value to anchor our parlay.

šŸ„… My best Oilers vs. Stars player prop

Connor McDavid to record 2+ points (+100)

The fact the NHL leader in points is getting even-money to record two is beyond me, but we're going to take advantage. Of course, the Stars' defense is stingy (ranked fourth in expected goals against), but without Roope Hintz and Mikko Rantenen, the ice is going to open up for the Oilers' playmakers. McDavid, for his part, is also first in the NHL in expected goals for, and I'm expecting him to have a big night tonight ... again.

šŸ”„ More Oilers vs. Stars player props

Wyatt Johnston to record 3+ shots (-118)

With Roope Hintz sidelined indefinitely due to a lower-body injury, Wyatt Johnston has moved up to the top line for the Dallas Stars alongside Jason Robertson and rookie standout Mavrik Bourque. In addition to centering the first power-play unit, Johnston is now seeing nearly 23 minutes of ice time per game. With that level of usage, I expect him to comfortably clear this number tonight as part of our best Oilers vs. Stars player props. I’d set this line closer to -130, so there's solid value at the current price.

Leon Draisaitl to record 3+ shots (-156)

There's a good reason why I'm dropping 1.5 units on this play - it's my lock of the day. Draisaitl is averaging close to five shots per game over his last three, and has totaled 17 over his last five. In his previous two meetings against Dallas, he record four shots in both, and is the ultimate trigger man on the NHL's best power play. This is our anchor for our same-game parlay, and is my most confident bet on the board.

šŸ’” How I'm betting Oilers vs. Stars player props

Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.

Bankroll management is a crucial element for a long-term, successful betting strategy.

The number of units I wagered reflects how confident I am in each player's chances of hitting their respective bet. For my most confident play, I'm fine with exposing 1.5 units of my bankroll (1 unit = $100 for my personal bankroll). It's important to be strategic with your wager sizes. For the most part, I keep these  one unit at the most unless the data suggests otherwise. In this case, Draisaitl is that exception.
