After a forced five-week hiatus, the F1 season returns on Sunday with the Miami Grand Prix (4 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli are on top of the Miami Grand Prix odds leaderboard, with Antonelli securing pole position. Mercedes won all three races to start the season, with Antonelli taking the previous two. McLaren made some headway in Japan, though, with Oscar Piastri finishing second.

🏁 Early pick to win Miami Grand Prix

George Russell (+150) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A disastrous turn of events in Japan saw Russell drop from second to fifth. The unfortunate timing of the safety car made him slip from second to third, and a battery issue cost him two more places, one of which he made up through solid racing.

Both occurrences were out of his control, which is why I'm backing him to win his second race of the season.

As long as he can stay clear of those misfortunes, which is easier said than done, I like him to rebound in a big way. He finished third during last season's Miami GP and has the car to win in Miami for the first time.

💰 Early picks & best bets for Miami GP

Here's a look at the best alternatives on the board looking ahead to Sunday's race:

Kimi Antonelli (+150)

Antonelli is the youngest driver to lead the standings, thanks to consecutive wins in China and Japan. He has masterful control of the car that is outperforming the competition.

The 19-year-old has driven with composure well beyond his years, and as long as the car keeps cooperating and he can avoid the circumstances Russell faced in Japan, everything will remain smooth.

However, Antonelli will face adversity at some point, which is more challenging to overcome as a teenager in an unfamiliar, pressure-packed situation.

That said, he's flying at the moment, and that confidence can help him win a third straight race.

Oscar Piastri (+800)

After Piastri finished second in Japan, McLaren probably didn't want the forced five-week hiatus. Last year's champions cut into the performance deficit, almost looking like Mercedes' equal. They would have done more work on the car to try to gain parity during the break.

While I don't think McLaren will be on par with Mercedes yet, Piastri's win in Miami last year bodes well. If the team can pick up where it left off, he'll be in with a shot of uprooting Mercedes' early-season dominance.

Charles Leclerc (+1000)

Leclerc has two podium finishes from three races, a decent return for the Ferrari driver. However, he hasn't won a race since May 2024, and Ferrari struggled to keep up with McLaren last year and Mercedes thus far in 2026.

Ferrari is the fastest at the start, which should provide an early advantage. While I'm not sure his car can maintain the performance level required to win, he has the best chance outside of the Mercedes drivers and Piastri.
