Switzerland vs. Canada Prediction: World Cup Picks & Best Bets (June 24)

My Canada vs. Switzerland prediction breaks down a battle for first place on Wednesday at BC Place in Vancouver at 3 p.m. ET, airing on FOX, Telemundo, and FOX One.
Canada only requires a draw to secure the top spot in Group B, but I'm backing Switzerland, the marginal +125 betting favorite. The Swiss are more battle-tested and experienced at this level, which I believe will prove decisive in a closely contested match. As part of our World Cup predictions, I'm featuring Breel Embolo as my goal-scorer prop.

⚽ Who will win Switzerland vs. Canada?
Canada has home advantage and momentum on their side, but Switzerland has more pedigree and experience.
In addition, Switzerland is used to playing in hostile environments against strong opponents. I believe that will provide the edge Switzerland will need to eke out a 2-1 victory.
Score prediction: Switzerland 2 - 1 Canada
💵 My best bet: Switzerland ML (+125)
Switzerland didn't lose in qualifying, scoring 14 goals and allowing two in six matches. Their performance against Qatar was better than the 1-1 score indicates, as they were wasteful on several Grade A opportunities.
Switzerland represents Canada's strongest opponent in over a year, which could be challenging for Jesse Marsch's men. It's the type of match they could use superstar Alphonso Davies, who likely won't start.
Ismaël Koné, who suffered a horrifying leg injury against Qatar, also represents a key loss in the heart of midfield. Those slight impediments will open the door just enough for the Swiss.
🦶 Who will score in Switzerland vs. Canada?

Breel Embolo, F, Switzerland (+175)
Embolo scored in Switzerland's opener against Qatar and has netted in four of the previous seven games for his country. He wasn't nearly as consistent at club level with Rennes in Ligue 1, bagging eight in 31 matches last season.
However, I'm making this play based on his form with Switzerland. If I were to pick a Canadian to score, it would be the on-fire Jonathan David, who scored a hat trick against Qatar.
As I believe Switzerland will secure the victory, I'm backing Embolo.
Best Canada vs. Switzerland goal-scorer pick: Breel Embolo (+175 via BetMGM)
🥅 Will both teams score in Switzerland vs. Canada?
Canada scored at least one goal in seven of the previous eight matches, and I expect their relentless press and lightning-quick pace to pay dividends.
That said, Switzerland is excellent defensively, so I'm expecting only one goal from the Canadians.
Switzerland scored at least one in 16 of their previous 18 matches. They looked threatening in the last 20 minutes against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I predict more of the same.
Both teams to score (BTTS) pick: Yes (-128 via BetMGM)
